Horizons Intensive Outpatient Program
Horizons Intensive Outpatient Program embraces evidenced-based holistic team approach to treating clients with substance use disorders because we understand that abstaining from drugs of abuse is only one aspect of durable recovery. Our clients have access to individual therapists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and certified substance abuse counselors to address issues that can complicate the early recovery process such as sleep disturbances, attention issues, post-acute withdrawal symptoms, and co-occurring mental health problems. We also understand the social problems such as unemployment, domestic violence, and homelessness create complications for avoiding relapse. Our IOP program emphasizes person-centered, solution-focused approach to understanding the individual and strive to collaborate with each client to create treatment goals that address the most pressing obstacles in the way of growth and recovery. Additionally, we have a strong and well-established Medication Assisted Treatment program for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder, and may also prescribe a medication regimen to help alleviate cravings for individuals not seeking MAT but who may benefit from these medications short-term to overcome the most difficult stages of abstinence.
We believe that abstinence is only one aspect of quality sobriety. We approach this process holistically to help individuals identify the most immediate problems interfering with their wellbeing. IOP participation gives clients the education, tools, support, and most importantly confidence and hope; all of which are necessary to create a sobriety-based lifestyle that is meaningful to each person.
We do NOT regard Relapse as a failure, we approach these instances with compassion and concern as it often signals the need for new or adjusted treatment measures. Participating in IOP during the early and most challenging time in the recovery process allows for close monitoring and can serve as a first-line response to help individuals stay on track.
